8 8 Dihydro-3,6,9-trimethyl
1-3, 12-epoxy-12H-Prano-[4,3,-j] -1,2-benzodioxopine-10(3H)-ol. |
| Pharmacology |
| Powerful plasmodicide of malaria parasite agamete. Effective to pernicious malaria
which is resistant to chloroquine and piperaquine. Low toxicity. Reproduction
toxicology, increase foetal absorption during pregnancy in mice. No mutation effect
observed. |
| Pharmacokinetics |
| Oral administration of Dihydroartemisinin absorption is rapid and extensive, take effect
promptly. Special feature : absorption rapidly, distribution extensive, quick excretion and
metabolism. |
| Indication |
| All forms of malaria specially effective for treatment of pernicious malaria and cerebral
malaria which are resistant to chloroquine or piperaquine. |
| Side Effects |
| No side effects were reported on clinical dosage. Very few cases of temporary
reticulocyte subsidence were noted. |

| Packed in 100 ml. pharmaceutical plastic bottle. |

| Adminstration and dosage for adults and children |
| Add freshly boiled and cooled water to marked level (80ml.). Shake well before use.
The dosing schedule is given below. The direction is given in chart on the carton. Note,
the suspending liquid can be stored for 14 days in refrigerator, and 7 days in room
temperature. |
